Early Intervention

If conditions such as crowding, cross-bite or impacted teeth are present in young children, Dr. Howe will outline a plan of early orthodontic intervention to correct these problems before they get worse.  Early intervention can usually be accomplished with simple, durable, non-removable appliances, without having to place a child in braces twice throughout the course of complete orthodontic treatment.  When incorporated in a comprehensive treatment plan of orthodontic care, this approach shortens, simplifies, and reduces the cost of orthodontic treatment.

Dr. Howe believes it is rarely necessary to place children in braces twice, commonly known as Phase 1 and Phase 2 treatment.
